Physical Therapist - Home Health
Location: Akron, Ohio (covering Macedonia, Twinsburg, Kent, Streetsboro, Brady Lake region)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
On-Call: 1 weekend on-call every 6 weeks
Job Description
Provide physical therapy services in a home health setting, applying therapy best practices and making appropriate clinical judgments. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers. Maintain a disciplined work ethic with attention to detail and prioritization skills.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Home care experience is desired
- Strong communication skills and ability to create positive impressions
- Knowledgeable in therapy best practices
- Ability to assess situations and implement effective solutions
- Detail-oriented and observant
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check and fingerprinting required prior to or at time of hire (per Ohio state regulations)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Driver’s license and auto insurance documentation required
- Physical exam and immunization documentation as applicable (e.g., TB test, Hepatitis B form)
- Drug screening may be required depending on location and assignment specifics
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption may be required during flu season
- COVID vaccination and booster requirements vary by location; exemptions may apply

- Candidates must be able to work independently in a home health environment
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize patient care visits
- Must be able to respond to on-call duties as scheduled
