Step Down Registered Nurse

Overview

Location: San Luis Obispo, California
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30
Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit: Step down

Role Summary

Provide nursing care for patients in the step down unit.
Interpret ECG rhythms and manage care during life-threatening emergencies.
Float to medical-surgical if needed.
Supervise and delegate care to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Stepdown (1 year of experience)
Stepdown experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Successful completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia Course
Completion of a Critical Care Course
6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience in the last 2 years
