Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Shift options:
    • 5 days of 8-hour shifts (Day shift 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
    • 4 days of 10-hour shifts
    • Combination of 2 days 8-hour & 2 days 12-hour shifts
  • No on-call or weekend shifts
  • Scheduling flexibility: block scheduling, rotational, or set day off depending on shift pattern

Job Description

  • Role: Electrophysiology Lab Technician
  • Must be able to scrub during procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
  • Electrophysiology Technician experience within the last year
  • Certifications and Licenses:
    • ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Fluoroscopy Permit
  • Must hold a valid state license appropriate for the Electrophysiology Tech role
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation as required
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Tdap (highly preferred for certain specialties)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID vaccination series preferred

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, counties lived/worked, statewide, national sex offender, federal, and education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Foreign equivalency education evaluation required for internationally educated candidates
  • Verification of highest education level required
  • Employment application with 7-year work history, no gaps over 90 days
  • Work history verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for this role and must be updated if there is a 30-day gap between assignments

  • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center

Additional Required Training and Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 85%)
  • Color blind testing (must score 80% or higher)
  • Various facility-specific training modules and attestations (to be completed via provided materials), including but not limited to:
    • Language Services Training
    • CAUTI Education Training
    • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
    • Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module (exceptions apply)
    • Stroke Education (exceptions apply)
    • CLABSI Prevention Training
    • Preventing Pressure Injury Training
    • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
    • Pyxis ES MedStation Training
    • Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
    • Patient Bedside Rounding (exceptions apply)
    • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (exceptions apply)
    • Blood Administration Module (annual update required)
    • New Employee Orientation
    • 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for this role)
    • Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)

Pros

Always given very easy assignments. Their MICU is combined with the MICU stepdown so travelers were put in stepdown once a week but it’s a 1:3 ratio there and assignments were fair

Very large unit so hard to get to know everyone/find people to help sometimes
