Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shifts: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 AM – 07:00 PM)
• Call shifts: 4-6 call shifts every 6 weeks (weekdays 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM; weekends 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Call response time: 45 minutes
• Holiday coverage as needed
• If working after call past midnight, up to 8 hours rest time provided before next shift
• Floating required within the operating room service line for staffing needs
• Scrub role preferred; circulating role required
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Local candidates not accepted (must live at least 75 miles from facility)
• Pending license accepted
• Return to office restrictions: no more than 7 days

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, and Plastic Surgery

• Charting system: EPIC
• Parking cost: $15/day or $70/month
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Compliance & Documentation

• Must complete facility-specific documents prior to start, including:

  • HIPAA Acknowledgement
  • Latex Allergy Questionnaire
  • Confidentiality Form
  • Regulatory Compliance Education (annual quiz with minimum 80% score)
  • Hand Hygiene Policy
  • Fingernail Policy
  • Dress Code Policy
  • Orientation modules (approximately 16 hours, required for all RNs)
  • Vehicle registration form (for day shift workers)
  • Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Employment application required and must be uploaded
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) and Highway Patrol checks required and must be renewed as specified

Additional Notes

• Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length
• Candidates may be called in during shifts to provide breaks or shift relief
• Facility strives to minimize working extended hours after call but may occur due to staffing needs
