Registered Nurse - Oncology Chemo Certified

Location: Harvey, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

• Assess clinical, emotional, spiritual, psychosocial, financial, and other patient needs.
• Facilitate resolution of patient needs and monitor follow-ups.
• Educate patients and families on disease, treatments, side effects, adverse reactions, and reportable signs/symptoms based on multidisciplinary care plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning with patients’ families, social workers, home nursing staff, oncologists, and personal physicians.
• Ensure patients and family members understand and follow discharge instructions.
• Develop and coordinate patient education materials, clinical pathways, and quality studies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary consultations and tumor conferences.
• Document recommendations from multidisciplinary consultations and tumor conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Hematology/Oncology nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Oncology chemotherapy certification
