Registered Nurse – Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)

Location: San Francisco, California
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Contract Length: 20 weeks


Job Description

  • Work primarily in an outpatient Endoscopy Center with pre/post procedure and inpatient experience required.
  • Ability to float to other facilities within the system.
  • 8-hour day shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trauma I/II experience.

Certifications & Competencies

  • AHA BLS and ACLS (no exceptions, must be current).
  • Pass/Fail Telemetry exam on first day (specific to certain units).
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with a passing score of 80% or higher, completed through approved vendors.
  • Unit-specific competency exam with a passing score of 80% or higher, completed within 12 months prior to start.
  • Core clinical competency modules (Parts I, II, III) with passing scores, updated annually.
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for all RNs.

Background & Verification Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check including all counties of residence/work and 5 specific Bay Area counties.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript.
  • NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start.
  • Work history verification for 7 years matching resume; gaps of 30+ days must be explained.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician’s statement of fitness to work.
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved mask types required).
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations not accepted except with medical exemption).
  • Two negative TB tests required: one within 1 year and one within 3 months of start (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-Spot).
  • Annual TB questionnaire within 30 days of start.
  • Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (IGG titer or 2 vaccines; history of disease not accepted)
  • Standard 9-panel drug test (excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-April).
  • COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required as of current policy.

Additional Requirements & Information

  • Must complete facility-specific learning modules prior to or on Day 1 of orientation.
  • Pass/Fail Telemetry exam required for nurses working in specified units.
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) may be required depending on unit assignment.
  • Emergency contact information must be provided.
  • Cyber Security Awareness Training and HIPAA Healthcare Provider Module with quizzes required, with passing scores of 80% or higher.
  • Candidates must review and acknowledge COVID-19 preparedness and facility policies prior to start.
  • References and employment application must be current and include the last 7 years of work history.
  • Candidates must be prepared to provide all required documentation and clearances before start date.
