Job Opportunity: Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographer Pediatrics

Location

  • Los Angeles, California

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
  • Possible night and weekend call required
  • Float as needed

Specialty

  • Radiology / Cardiology (Pediatric/Fetal Echocardiography)

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • ARDMS-RDCS certification in Pediatric Echocardiography (PE)
  • ARDMS-RDCS certification in Fetal Echocardiography (FE)
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Fetal Echocardiography experience

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Current and valid state license for X-Ray Techs (CDPH RHB Diagnostic Radiologic Technology and Fluoroscopy permits)
  • Pending licenses are NOT accepted

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
  • Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
    • Social Security Trace
    • 7-year National Criminal History Search (County searches)
    • National Sex Offender Search
    • FACIS level 3 search (includes OFAC)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM search (annual)
    • HHS/OIG search (annual)
  • Education verification (Diploma or official transcripts)
  • Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Work history verification for last 5 years with gap explanations
  • Two professional references (supervisor level or above), one within the last year, including dates of affiliation

Required Health and Safety Documents

  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year; chest X-ray if applicable
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination within the past year
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (must include monovalent vaccine dose after 9/12/2023)
  • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months prior to start

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of multiple mandatory online training modules and certifications prior to start, including but not limited to:
    • HIPAA Privacy and Information Security Training
    • OSHA Annual Education Training
    • C-ICARE Training Module and Post Test
    • Code of Conduct Module and Post Test
    • Radiation Hazard Awareness Training
    • Age Specific Training
    • Safe Patient Handling and Training
    • "We Listen We Care" Module
  • Facility-specific documents to be reviewed and signed prior to start:
    • Elder Abuse Reporting
    • Child Abuse Reporting
    • Domestic Abuse Reporting
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Access Request Form (required for Allied techs, LVNs, CNAs, Non-Clinical, and Interim Leadership; not required for RNs)
    • Pyxis Form (for RNs and RRTs)
    • COVID Declination Form (optional)
  • Photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing (clear, recent, color headshot)
  • Wage Benefit Parity Form (for clinical and non-clinical candidates under specific profiles)
  • Additional facility-specific policies and questionnaires as applicable

  • Royal Blue scrubs required
