Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
• Rotating weekday day off each week
• On-call 8–10 days per month: typically one night per week (5:30 PM to 7:00 AM) and one weekend every 3 weeks (Friday night through Sunday night)
• Must respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alerts
• Call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Radiology Tech
• Work in 2 Cath Labs with rotation in EP Lab
• Perform 8–10 procedures per day and approximately 6–8 STEMI cases per month
• Scrubs and lead apron provided

Responsibilities

• Table panning and scrubbing for diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases
• Assist with devices/tools including Shockwave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, ACIST injector
• Assist with device implants such as Pacemakers & ICDs (single, dual, Bi-V), peripheral diagnostics, and interventions
• Cross-training available in EP (ablations)
• Use both radial and groin access techniques
• EP experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Current ARRT certification
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Must provide unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license)
• Background checks including 9-panel drug screen (no THC) with expanded opiates and oxycodone, criminal, sex offender, fugitive, violent offender, and county searches for last 7 years
• Education and work history verification (7 years) required
• Two professional references within 1 year of start date (one must be a supervisor)
• Annual physical exam or physician note stating clearance to work without restrictions (signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP)
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (must apply within 48 hours of offer acceptance)
  • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year; T-Spot/PPD not accepted)
  • Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination within 1 year
  • Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap valid within 10 years (Td not accepted)
• Fit mask test to be completed onsite; PAPRs not accommodated due to facial hair; medical/religious exemptions must be submitted on day one
• Required competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and core competencies
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
• Must sign and renew specialty job description annually
• Must submit all required facility-specific documents and complete employee health attestation prior to start
• Assignment confirmation required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Do not submit applications to multiple jobs simultaneously

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with strong cardiology and radiology skills, who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working in a high-volume interventional cardiology environment.
