Physical Therapist - Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Location: Waltham and Lexington, Massachusetts
Work Setting: Outpatient Pediatric Neuro Developmental clinics
Schedule:

• Day shift, 5 days per week (40 hours total)
• Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekends
• Split between two clinic locations: 2 days in Lexington, 3 days in Waltham

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Experience in an Outpatient setting
• Developmental Therapist experience

Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS): AHA or American Red Cross certification required
• Professional Certification Verification: Must be verified within 30 days prior to start date
• Competency Exams: Pediatric medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams required (not applicable for Advanced Practice Nurses)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background Check:

  • 10-year criminal background check within 6 months prior to start date covering all aliases, nationwide and county checks, and multiple federal/state exclusion lists
  • International background checks if candidate has lived/worked outside the U.S. in the last 10 years
  • Background checks must be initiated within 24 hours of booking and updated annually for direct candidates
• Statewide iCORI Clearance: Massachusetts CORI release required and must be run within 60 days of start date
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks: Required
• Employment Application: Must match background check locations exactly

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or registered DC; must state cleared to work with no restrictions
• Immunizations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap after age 11, no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test (T-Spot or QuantiFERON within 90 days or 2-step skin test)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titers required
  • Hepatitis B: Must meet one of the accepted documentation options (series + titer, declination, etc.)
  • Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required
• Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (not required for Advanced Practice Nurses)
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for all travelers; facility-specific fit testing done onsite

Vaccination & Exemption Policies

• Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (8/1–3/31) or valid medical/religious exemption; documentation must be submitted by 11/14
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof of initial series or valid medical/religious exemption required; seasonal COVID vaccine preferred but not mandatory
• Exemption Forms: Separate exemption forms required for COVID and Flu vaccines if applicable

Additional Notes

• Proof of name change required if any documents are under a different name
• Onboarding packet must be completed approximately 2 weeks prior to start
• Data collection form must be completed within 72 hours of signing
• Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year prior to start
• No weekend shifts required for this assignment

This position offers a focused outpatient pediatric therapy role with a stable weekday schedule and requires thorough compliance with state licensing, background checks, immunizations, and competency verifications.
