Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Description

  • Operating Room position with late call coverage required.
  • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required.
  • Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, with OR experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Comprehensive background checks including county criminal, national criminal, sex offender, FACIS III, education verification, and others must be current and updated annually.
  • Employment verification covering the last 7 years required, with no unexplained gaps longer than 30 days.
  • Two supervisor references verified within 6 months of start, preferably from direct supervisors.
  • Completion of facility-specific documents such as confidentiality agreements, acceptable use policies, and electronic communications policies prior to start.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must initiate background checks within 48 hours of contract signing if prior checks do not meet requirements.
  • All certifications, competencies, and health documents must remain valid throughout the contract; renewal plans must be in place if expiration occurs during assignment.
  • Failure to pass required exams or meet compliance standards may result in cancellation of the assignment.
  • This position requires flexibility for late call coverage during the scheduled shift.
