Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Correctional Setting
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum for new contracts and extensions)
Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each; 18:00 to 6:30)
Hours per Week: 48 hours (36 guaranteed hours/week; facility may call off up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment)
Schedule: Weekend shifts required every other weekend
Block Scheduling: Accommodation possible but not guaranteed
Locals: Not accepted within 100-mile radius
Job Description
- Work primarily in the Addictions Medicine department within a correctional detention center.
- Responsibilities include administering Suboxone, detox medications, Suboxone inductions, and Methadone medication passes.
- Provide assessments and treatment for patients undergoing substance withdrawal and monitor patients during induction processes.
- Expected to learn all posts in the correctional setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 1 year of wound care experience within the last year.
- Correctional nursing experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification.
