Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Call Requirements:
    • One night weekday call
    • Weekend call every 6 weeks
  • Work Schedule:
    • Rotating shifts including holidays
    • Work during inclement weather required
  • Physical Demands:
    • Active role requiring ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
    • Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
  • Work Environment:
    • 24/7 healthcare facility

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology, with experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Immunizations and Testing:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (annual updates required)
    • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
    • Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required (declinations not accepted for new candidates)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • Fit Mask Testing: Valid fit test within 1 year of start required (exceptions apply)
  • Physical Exam: Completed within 1 year of start, must be initiated within 48 hours of signing

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to work full term at assigned location
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays (at least 50% of holidays)
  • Ability to take call as scheduled

Documentation and Compliance

  • Must complete Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver Background Screening within 60 days of start (one must be on file before starting)
  • Completion of facility-specific new hire paperwork and safety acknowledgments within 60 days
  • Photo for badge required for new candidates only
  • Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days
  • Two professional references from the last 2 years required

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with exposure to infectious diseases
  • This position requires flexibility and commitment to rotating shifts, call duties, and holiday coverage
  • All certifications must be current and from approved organizations (AHA or ARC for BLS/ACLS)
