Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Start Date: May 4, 2026
Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (08:00 - 20:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled
Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
Unit Size: 22 rooms / 42 beds
Average Census: 40-42 patients
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
Floating: Required within specialty sister units and lower acuity units as needed
On-Call: No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
Scrub Color: Navy Blue


Required Qualifications

  • License: Maryland RN license
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
    • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty
  • References: Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Background: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start; felonies within 5 years are automatic decline
  • Employment History: Verification of previous 5 years of employment required (attestation accepted if necessary)
  • Physical & Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual updates required)
    • Immunizations and titers: TB test, Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine (or approved exemption)
    • COVID vaccine not required but documentation collected for tracking
  • Competency Exams: Medication, pharmacology, age-specific, dysrhythmia/EKG, and color blindness testing as applicable (must score 80% or higher)
  • Additional Documentation:
    • Government-issued photo ID
    • I9 or attestation
    • E-Verify or attestation
    • Facility-specific documents including badge photo, confidentiality agreement, dress code review, and learning modules completion prior to start

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Provide nursing care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
  • Manage a patient load with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Float to sister specialty units and lower acuity units as needed
  • Work every other weekend and scheduled holidays
  • Participate in required training and complete facility-specific learning modules before start date
