Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Description

Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
Unit: Telemetry
Typical Diagnoses: CHF, MI/Chest pain (pre- and post-cath), Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), Hypo-/Hypertension, Pleural effusion, Sepsis, PE/DVT/vascular issues
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 (16 rooms)
Electronic Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
Schedule: Every other weekend; floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
Call Requirements: None
Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including at least 2 years of telemetry experience
Telemetry experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Additional Information

Floating within the facility may be required as per scope of practice
Compliance with all documentation and credentialing is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment start delays
Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen to determine fit before final approval
Locals are accepted at the same rate

This position offers an opportunity to work in a telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular and related conditions, utilizing Epic electronic health records and working within a supportive team environment.
