Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Patient Age Group: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Typical Caseload: 7-10 patients per day
  • Exam Types: Primarily OB exams with some occasional GYN scans
  • Equipment Used: GE ultrasound machines
  • Floating: May be asked to float to a nearby clinic
  • Weekend Requirement: None
  • On-Call Requirement: No
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions
  • Start Date: Targeted start around April 20; May 4 starts also considered
  • Flu Vaccine: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Tech in Maternal Fetal (OB/Maternal Fetal) settings, including experience within the last year
  • Certification: ARDMS OB/GYN
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, and others as required within 90 days of start
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen (including THC) within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Flu vaccine (mandatory, no exemptions)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive antibody titers)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (vaccines or positive titer)
    • Polio vaccine or attestation
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (at least one supervisor)
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)

Additional Information

  • First-time travel candidates are welcome
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are considered
  • Candidates must set up a guest account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
  • Competency exams and pass/fail testing on basic tech knowledge will be conducted at orientation
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided during orientation if applicable
  • Candidates may be required to complete online modules prior to orientation
  • Documentation must be complete and approved before start date; no pending background checks allowed
