Job Opportunity: Tele Float Registered Nurse

Location: Leominster, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work primarily on Med Surg/Telemetry units including cardiac drips.
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including ER boarders.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and holidays.
• Shift flexibility required: ability to start up to 4 hours before or after scheduled start time based on department needs.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:5.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Scheduling is based on unit needs; no block schedules available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 3 years of Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• Acknowledgement of PassFail Testing
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

• Must pass medication and telemetry competency exams with a minimum score of 80% on the first day of orientation (only one attempt allowed).
• Ability to float across multiple inpatient units including emergency department boarders.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and education verification required.
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions.
• Required immunizations or valid declinations for:

  • COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or declination)
  • Flu seasonal vaccine or declination (during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Hepatitis B
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable, plus TB questionnaire.
• Drug screening within 30 days of start.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced inpatient hospital setting with a focus on telemetry and medical-surgical care.
• Requires flexibility and adaptability to changing unit needs.

• No prior travel contract experience required.
• Scheduling is dynamic and based on unit needs; flexibility is essential.
• Must be able to pass required competency exams on day one to avoid cancellation.
