Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Dothan, Alabama

Shift Details
- 3x12 or 4x12 hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- Block scheduling may be accommodated
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6-7
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Must be proficient in cardiac drips including Cardizem, Tridil, Amiodarone
- Unit is orthopedic with MS/telemetry overflow requiring cardiac drip skills at times
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense approved
- NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) - must be current within 1 year and updated annually; completed through facility after clearance
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred but not mandatory
- Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, TNCC (based on unit and role)
- State RN license verification required with exact name match on license and ID
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
Licensing & Compliance
- Pending license holders are eligible
- Previous permanent staff are ineligible for travel assignments for 10 years
- Must live at least 90 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
- All licenses expiring during assignment must show proof of renewal before start (no exceptions)
Background & Screening Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification via clearinghouse or official transcripts
- Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results required prior to orientation (time sensitive)
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start, updated annually; instant/rapid tests not accepted
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (specific approved masks only)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Immunizations or titers required for: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Flu vaccination required for all placements starting on or after September 15; no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions require facility form and mask wearing)
- COVID-19 vaccination is voluntary
Documentation & Other Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references within last 12 months (may extend to 18 months if necessary)
- Complete employment application/resume
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Facility-specific modules must be completed before orientation; no time to complete during orientation
- Photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing (passport-style, no nose rings)
- Preferred badge name must be confirmed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Scrubs color: Navy Blue
- Candidate must bring valid driver’s license matching RN license name on first day
- Facility will provide NIH Stroke Certification training after clearance
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation deadlines to avoid delays or inability to start
