Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina

Job Description

  • Position: Interventional Radiology Tech - Days
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years in Interventional Radiology required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs; may float between like units
  • Block Scheduling: Open to accommodation
  • Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Per manager's discretion
  • Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
  • Special Policies:
    • Must be gone 1 year before returning as a traveler
    • System has a 2-contract limit (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning

Requirements & Certifications

  • Experience: Must have Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Military (required for certain units)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required for specific units
    • NIH Stroke Certification - Required and must be updated annually
  • Competency Exams:
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual renewal required)
    • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with remediation and strict passing criteria
  • Acknowledgement: Pass/Fail Testing acknowledgment required for multiple units including IR

Scheduling & Work Expectations

  • Days, weekends, and call required
  • All callouts for scheduled shifts must be made up as deemed necessary by the department

Background & Health Requirements

  • Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
  • Education verification or diploma/transcript required
  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • TDAP within last 10 years (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
    • Varicella titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
    • Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
  • Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval and must be resubmitted annually
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required but documentation accepted
