Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (LTAC MS/Tele RN - Nights)

Job Details

• Shift: Nights
• Start Date: ASAP
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years (will review candidates with 1+ year)
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• On-call Requirement: Yes (2 on-call or 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks required)
• Floating: Floating within scope to lower level of care based on critical staffing needs is expected
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
• Pending License: Accepted if obtained before starting
• Attendance Policy: More than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review/cancellation
• Testing: Must pass arrhythmia and medication tests on the first day
• Fit Test: Shaving may be required to pass onsite fit test

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required (AHA or AHA RQI acceptable)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all candidates (AHA or AHA RQI acceptable)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Pass/Fail Testing: Cardiac Arrhythmia Test and Medication Dosage Calculation Test on first day (two attempts allowed)
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing – Required for RNs
• State License Verification – Primary source verification required
• NURSYS Verification – Required for all RNs
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Required

Required Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 3 months of start (Qgold, Tspot preferred; 2-step PPD acceptable)
• Immunizations:

  • Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
  • Mumps: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
  • Rubella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
• Drug Testing: Within 60 days of start (10 panel + Oxy + Marijuana)
• Flu Vaccination/Documentation: Required during flu season (11/01 - 3/31) or declination with mask requirement
• COVID Vaccination: Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form
• Respirator Safety Clearance: Required within 1 year if respirator use is needed

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Education verification (highest level for RNs: associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Transcript/Diploma required for highest education level
• References: 2 references within 1 year of start (Qualivis requirement)
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist updated annually

Additional Notes

• Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
• Must be able to pass all required exams and tests on time
• Facility has an attendance policy specific to travelers
• Floating to lower level of care units may be required based on staffing needs

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of experience (or 1+ year considered) who are comfortable working nights in a LTAC/Medical-Surgical Telemetry setting and meeting the certification and compliance requirements listed above.
