Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Responsible for handling sick call and triaging
• Administer medications including insulin
• Tool control and screening/reporting duties
• Emergency response including Narcan administration, physical force injuries, asthma rescue
• Reporting employee accidents/injuries and sexual abuse/assault
• Maintaining health records
• Administrative responsibilities related to inmate death
• All shifts and hours available; holidays optional
• No cell phones allowed on site
• Background checks required

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background checks within 1 year covering last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
• Criminal background check fingerprinting required (completed onsite)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for RNs (effective for new contracts starting 6/25/25)
• Competency exam required for all candidates
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months prior to start (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD accepted)
• Annual TB questionnaire required (in lieu of annual TB test)
• Vaccination documentation or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing (9 panel) within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination for 2025-26
• COVID-19 vaccine booster preferred but not required
