Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
Unit & Work Setting
- Telemetry unit
- Diagnoses include CHF, MI/Chest pain (pre- and post-cath), Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), Hypo-/Hypertension, Pleural effusion, Sepsis, PE/DVT/vascular issues
- Ratio/Census: 1:4-5; 16 rooms
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Schedule & Work Requirements
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- RTO Blackout Dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Call: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day)
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays may push start by 2 weeks due to orientation schedule
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience
- 1st time travelers accepted
- No prior travel experience explicitly required
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (check if required/preferred)
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Georgia
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required)
- Color Blind Testing (required)
- Competency Exam (required)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with TB questionnaire updated annually)
- Immunizations:
- Measles (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Mumps (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required
Additional Notes
- Telemetry unit uses Epic system; familiarity required
- Floating within facility as needed
- Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours orientation)
- Candidate will undergo clinical pre-screen to determine fit before final approval
