Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech
Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift: Day/Evening rotating schedule with 2x8-hour and 2x12-hour shifts
- Shift rotation is required
- Call requirements: 2-4 weeknights and 1-2 weekends of call per 4-week schedule
- Call shifts are no longer than 12 hours
- Weekend call is either Friday & Saturday night OR Saturday & Sunday during the day only
- Unit is flexible with time-off requests and scheduling
- Positive team dynamic and supportive management reported by previous travelers
Patient Population & Procedures
- Adult cardiac surgery patients, vascular, and thoracic cases
- Complex and high acuity cases including:
- Cardiac: LVAD/RVAD, Heart Transplant, Aortic Aneurysm Repair, MVR, AVR, CABG, ECMO, MAZE, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices
- Thoracic: Transplant, VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy (Minimally Invasive & Transhiatal), Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Laparoscopic & Open Hiatal Hernia Repair
- Vascular: AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal bypass, Fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR Tech experience (highest required years of experience)
- Prior travel experience required
Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (AHA only, no certificates of completion accepted)
- BLS (AHA only, no certificates of completion accepted)
- PALS (AHA only, as applicable)
- NRP (as applicable)
- State License verification required
- National Tech Certification verification as applicable
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for ICU units including CVICU
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Government issued photo ID required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if past positive)
- Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (titers or vaccines with boosters as needed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Flu vaccination required year-round with no exemptions allowed
- Facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- 2 recent professional references from managers/supervisors required (charge RN references not accepted)
Additional Notes
- Must be able to cardiac scrub
- Strict flu vaccination policy with no medical or religious exemptions

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Techs who have prior travel experience and are comfortable with a rotating shift schedule and call responsibilities in a high-acuity surgical environment.
