Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky

Work Schedule

• Saturday to Monday
• May float to another facility within the system

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center or teaching facility (preferred)
• Experience with Siemens MR REQUIRED
• Experience with anesthesia and pediatric patients
• Epic and PACS experience preferred

Required Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ARRT (R) - Radiologic Technologist certification
• ARRT (MR) - MRI certification
• State license NOT required for this position

Specialty Skills

• MRI Safety knowledge, including researching implants and adhering to scanning guidelines
• Experience working with pediatric patients and anesthesia

Prior Travel Experience

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background checks including county and national criminal searches, sex offender search, education verification, and others required and must be current
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and health documents required and must be current, including:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with annual renewal)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination with booster if needed)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • COVID vaccination or approved exemption (booster preferred but not required)
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Pass/Fail EKG exam required for certain specialties (facility-specific; may apply)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams required annually
• Unit-specific competency exams required annually
• Color Blind Testing required within 1 year
• RN Math Ability Competency Exam required annually (if applicable)
• Other specialty-specific competency exams as required

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references verified within 6 months of start
• Employment history verification for the past 7 years
• Skills checklists updated annually and valid during contract
• Various facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start

Requirements/Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Recent MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• ARRT certification
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Knowledge of MRI safety, including how to research implants
• Knowledge of adhering to MRI scanning guidelines
• Experience with anesthesia

• Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted for this position
• Renewal plans must be in place for any certifications or documents expiring during the contract
• Must comply with all facility and system policies and procedures

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with strong Siemens MRI experience, pediatric and anesthesia exposure, and who are comfortable working in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
