Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Friday through Sunday
  • May float to another facility within the system

Job Requirements

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (MRI Tech)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
    • Experience with Siemens MR
    • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Licenses & Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ARRT (R) required
  • MRI Safety knowledge, including researching implants and adhering to scanning guidelines

Required Certifications (must be current and renewed if expiring during contract)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) if applicable
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics

Background & Compliance Checks

  • Background check within 1 year, updated annually
  • County and national criminal background checks
  • Education verification or signed official transcript
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, NP, or PA
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray and TB questionnaire annually if history positive
  • Immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Drug testing within 1 year, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually
  • COVID vaccination series or approved exemption required; booster preferred but not required

Competency & Skills Verification

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 1 year, passing score required
  • Color blindness test within 1 year
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists, updated annually
  • Pass/fail EKG exam required for certain specialties (may apply depending on unit)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if applicable

Additional Notes

  • Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted for this position
  • Must adhere to facility-specific policies including confidentiality, acceptable use, and electronic communications
  • Two references required, verified within 6 months of start
  • Employment history verification for the past 7 years required

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with Siemens MR experience looking for a travel contract in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment with pediatric and anesthesia exposure.
