Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Oakland, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts
- Float: Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities
- Specialty: Pediatric Case Management (NICU/PICU experience preferred)
Required Qualifications
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric case management experience, including NICU/PICU
- Current and valid Driver’s License or government photo ID matching professional license
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, and Education Verification
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA, no exceptions)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (AHA, no exceptions)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) (AHA/AAP, no exceptions)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work
- Drug testing (standard 9 panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or Tspot) with specific timing requirements
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination (declination must be signed within 1 year)
- Flu seasonal vaccination or facility-specific declination (required Nov-April)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption; booster 2 required for all travelers
- UCSF-specific compliance requirements including:
- Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication Tests on first day of orientation
- Unit-specific competency exams and core training modules with passing scores (80% or higher)
- Annual Cyber Security Awareness Training and HIPAA Healthcare Provider Module (for clinical staff)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
- References: Two supervisory references required, preferably from most recent employment
- Employment application with 7 years of work history; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
- Skills checklist updated annually
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare-related field
