Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts
- No weekends
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1+ year of experience preferred in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
Required Certifications & Licenses
- State License for MRI Tech (must be verified within 30 days of start)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (required for relevant adult inpatient and ICU areas)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for certain radiology units)
Background Checks & Compliance
- Criminal Background Check within 6 months (7-year search including alias, county, national sex offender)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Employment Application and professional references required (minimum 1 management reference and 1 employment verification covering 1 year within past 2 years)
- Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams required
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming fitness for duty
- N95 Mask Fit Testing within 1 year (not required for sterile processing or clerical roles)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- TB testing (PPD or Quantiferon Gold) or chest X-ray if positive history
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or physician documentation)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination (surface antigen and antibody titers required for renal dialysis assignments)
- Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
- Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Dec 1 - Apr 30)
Additional Requirements
- Color Blind Testing (14 plate Ishihara exam)
- Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG for RNs in certain units)
- Annual mandatory OSHA training and Core Part I, II, III training modules
- Facility-specific documents including badge photo and compliance checklists must be completed prior to start
