Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shifts:

  • 2 shifts per week, 8 hours (06:30 - 15:30)
  • 2 shifts per week, 12 hours (06:30 - 19:00)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• On Call Requirement: Yes, rotating weekends and late call until 7pm Monday-Thursday, plus Friday night call rotation
• Float Requirement: May float to other surgical specialties
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Special Note: Facility needs coverage through Mardi Gras (2/13 - 2/22); minimize time-off requests during this period

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required, but No First Time Travelers (implies prior travel experience required)
• Required Experience: Robotics, Neuro, Plastics, and Orthopedic surgery
• Preferred Experience: Cardiovascular surgery

Certifications

• Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with background checks and verifications including:

  • Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Competency exams required within 12 months and updated annually (Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Core Parts I-III)
• Various health documents required including:

  • Physical exam within 12 months
  • Immunizations and titers for Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
• Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days
