Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Requirements

• Licensure:

  • Massachusetts RN license (Perm MA license in hand required)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 18 months of Emergency Room (ER) experience required
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
• Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system strongly preferred
• Work Schedule:

  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
  • Flexibility to start 4 hours before or after scheduled shift based on critical department needs
  • Possible float to another campus

Prior Travel Experience

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (updated annually)
• 7-year Criminal Background Check (within 30 days of start) and annual updates
• Education Verification (highest completed education)
• State License Verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification within 30 days prior to start
• Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness
• Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations and Declinations as applicable:

  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination (most recent vaccine required)
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
  • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella immunization or declination (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
• TB Testing:

  • Two PPD tests (one within 90 days, one within a year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days
  • TB Questionnaire required for all candidates
• Medication and Telemetry Competency Exams required on first day of orientation (minimum 80% score)
• References: Two references within three years of start
• Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Notes

• Must be able to pass all required competency exams and background checks to avoid cancellation
• May be required to float to other campus locations within the hospital system
• Flexibility in shift start times is necessary due to critical department needs

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses licensed in Massachusetts who meet the certification and compliance requirements and are comfortable with a flexible schedule and travel contract assignment.
