Job Details

• Shift: Nights (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Schedule: No call, no 48-hour option, no block scheduling
• Floating: Floating to different lab areas as needed
• EMR System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Gray

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience
• Education:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Medical Lab Technician program or equivalent preferred
• Certification:

  • Valid MLT certification through TN State Licensure, ASCP, AMT, AAB, HHS, or equivalent accrediting agency required
  • TN State license preferred
  • Alternatively, meet CLIA requirements for military-trained personnel (high school graduate by April 24, 1995, completed official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training of at least 50 weeks, and held military occupational specialty as Medical Laboratory Specialist)
• Preferred Skills: Experience in chemistry, hematology, and blood bank

Job Description

• Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosis and monitoring of diseases
• Follow standardized procedures and prepare samples for testing
• Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits
• Requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field
• Uses limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Performs a variety of tasks with some creativity and latitude
• Typically reports to a manager or supervisor

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
