Job Opportunity: LPN/LVN - Med Surg

Location

• El Paso, Texas

Employment Type

• Travel contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Shift & Hours

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• No call required
• Weekends every other week

Unit Information

• Unit: Medical-Surgical, 5 North
• Number of beds: 30
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Typical staff on night shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 CNAs, sitters as needed
• Equipment used: Feeding pumps, IV pumps, lift equipment, wound VAC, PCA, oxygen
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN/LVN license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification

Preferred Skills (not mandatory but highly valued)

• ACLS certification
• IV skills
• Experience with orthopedic and kidney transplant care
• Central line and Foley catheter management
• Experience caring for patients with cardiac, renal transplant, dialysis, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and diabetes conditions

Typical Procedures on Unit

• Breathing treatments (performed by Respiratory Therapist)
• Chronic wound care
