Ultrasound Tech - Echocardiology

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico

Job Description

• Work schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with one weekend of call (Friday-Sunday) every 5th week
• Unit: Echocardiology (Echo)
• Facility size: 199 beds, including a 22-bed Emergency Room and a 32-bed Critical Care Unit
• Equipment used: GE ultrasound machines
• Documentation systems: Meditech, Change Healthcare PACS
• No floating policy
• Procedures performed:

  • Transthoracic Echocardiograms
  • Bubble studies and Definity contrast studies (required)
  • Assisting with Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), structural heart procedures, TAVR procedures, and TEE during Watchman procedures
• Patient care settings: Inpatient (IP), Outpatient (OP), and Cath lab exams

Required Qualifications

• Valid Echo Technologist license in New Mexico
• Minimum 1 year of Echo Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings

• Dress code: Scrubs, any color
• The facility is Joint Commission Accredited, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, and a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI
