Overview

• Travel contract for a NICU RN in Oxnard, California.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Shift: nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm–7:00am.
• Hours: 36 per week.

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS.
• NRP.
• California RN license.
• 2-3 years of NICU experience.
• Level 3 NICU experience.

Preferred

• Travel experience.
• Ability to attend deliveries.
• Cooling experience.
• Spanish speaking.

Unit Details

• NICU Level 3b.
• 16 beds, increasing to 20 within a year.
• Ratios: 1:1 or 1:3 for feeder/growers.
• Charge nurse: yes.
• Nurse aides: no.
• Tele/monitor tech: Phillips; no monitor tech.
• Strips: no.
• IV team: no.
• RT 24/7: yes.
• Pharmacy 24/7: yes.
• Neonatologist in house: on call, with 2 full-time and 1 part-time.
• Scrub color: navy.
• Floor-specific orientation: 2-3 shifts.

Float Scope

• Float to L&D to care for babies.
• Float to postpartum to care for babies.

Clinical Notes

• Common patient types include all gestational ages, premies, sepsis, and substance abuse/withdrawal.
• Vents used include Aveya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and oscillator.
• No ECMO.
