Postpartum Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel contract for an experienced postpartum nurse in Los Angeles, California
• 13-week assignment
• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS
• NRP
• 4 years of postpartum experience

Assignment Details

• Start date: 8/24 only
• Must be willing to float to NICU and Pediatrics
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• No call required
• One major and one minor holiday required
• 3 shifts of unit orientation

Unit Information

• 28 postpartum beds
• Approximate volume: 3,300 births per year
• Typical ratio: 1:4 couplet care
• Charge nurse takes a patient assignment if needed
• Nurse aides/OB tech support available depending on census
• Common patient population includes high-risk postpartum cases such as hypertension, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, and substance abuse
• Patients are generally 20 weeks and above

Additional Notes

• Travel experience is preferred
• Navy scrubs required
