Overview

• Travel contract for an experienced Cath Lab RN in Carmichael, California, near Sacramento.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Unit: Cath Lab with 2 suites/labs and 2 beds.
• Average volume: 8 cases per day.
• EMR/equipment: Cerner.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California.
• Cardiac Cath Lab (2 years of experience).
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Driver's License.
• Call required, including at least every other weekend from Friday 1530 to Monday 0700.
• Call response time: 30 minutes.
• Copy of driver’s license required at submittal to validate legal name.
• 2 supervisor references required at submittal, including 1 within the last 12 months and 1 within the last 3 years worked.
• DYS exam through Relias required before signing the contract, to be completed within 24-48 hours.

• Candidates who do not scrub will be considered.

Work Setting / Unit Details

• Charge nurse present.
• Cath lab/IR techs present.
• Vents present.
• IV team present.
• RT available 24/7.
• Pharmacy available 24/7.
• Hospital-provided scrubs.
• Floor orientation is typically 1 or 2 shifts, depending on skill level.

Case Mix

• Cath lab cases include all cardiac invasive procedures except structural heart.
• Peripheral procedures include carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, peripheral diagnostic and intervention.
• IR cases include peripheral procedures, carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, peripheral diagnostic and intervention.
• No “dirty” procedures such as PEGs, G tubes, or nephew tubes.
