3 years of vascular access experience
Vascular access experience within the last year
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience working with pediatric patients
Experience working with neonate patients
Peripheral IV insertion with ultrasound skills

Provides patient care independently using the nursing process
Manages more complex patient care assignments appropriate to skill level
Works with the inter-professional health care team to coordinate care across the continuum
May guide, assist, and direct unlicensed assistive personnel
Must be proficient with clinical equipment, computers, and technology used in the nurse’s practice setting
