Job Description

Experience Required: 2 years in a hospital setting
Licensure: Must have an active compact license at submission
Certifications: BLS required

Unit Information

Unit Type: Trauma Telemetry
Level of Care: Medical Surgical, Telemetry
Number of Beds: 34 (private)
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, 3 Techs, 1 DA
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 3 Techs (7p-11p), 1 Tech (11p-7a)
Patient Ratios: 5-6:1
Equipment Used: Telemetry (bedside monitors), vein finder, bladder scanner, EKG machine, Doppler, Hoyer Lift, glucometer, pulse oximeter, scales, wound vac
EMR System: Meditech

Preferred Skills

Must Have:
- Medical Surgical Experience
- BLS Certification
- RN License
Preferred:
- Trauma experience
- Telemetry experience

Specialized Care Aspects

Management of complex wounds
Administration of blood products
Pain management
Management of tubes & drains (NG, PEG, feeding tubes, surgical drains, chest tubes)
