Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation


Unit Information

  • Unit: Inpatient Rehab Speech
  • Number of Beds: 44
  • Number of Speech Therapists on Staff: 2 (Day Shift only)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:8 to 1:10
  • Equipment Used: MBS Suite, Vital Stim, IOPI, EMST150, Bioness BITs
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system in use

Job Description

  • Evaluate and treat multiple diagnoses related to swallowing and speech-language disorders
  • Perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Studies
  • Patient population primarily adults with medical conditions
  • Floating area may include acute hospital settings

Requirements

  • Valid Virginia SLP License and ASHA Certification (CCC)
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Speech-Language Pathology (specialty)
  • Experience with adult population in a medical setting required
  • Preferred: Neuro experience and inpatient rehab experience
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Day shift only (no night shifts)
  • Assist with rotating weekends, usually one shift per month
  • Dress code: Black scrub bottoms and royal blue scrub top preferred (other colors accepted)
  • Best fit: Patient-focused, team-oriented, flexible

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

This position is ideal for SLPs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working in an inpatient rehab setting with adult patients and have the required licensure and certifications.
