Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Job Description

• Perform and assist in interventional radiology procedures including:

  • Angiography, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, Stenting
  • Embolizations, Embolectomy, Declotting procedures
  • Central Line placement, Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)
  • Pulmonary Embolism studies with intervention
• Ability to scrub and circulate during cases
• Operate specialized equipment in a sterile environment

Unit Information

• Special Procedures Lab within Imaging Services Department
• Hospital has 186 beds
• IR Department staff: 6 members (3 Radiology RNs, 3 IR Technologists)
• Equipment: GE systems
• EMR system: Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

• Must have:

  • Ability to scrub and circulate cases with strict sterile technique
  • Experience working in an Interventional Lab
  • Experience with guidewire and catheter exchanges in sterile environment
• Preferred:

  • Strong Interventional Radiology background
  • Ability to operate MacLab Hemodynamic System

• Dialysis Catheter Placements
• Peripheral Arteriography
• Angioplasty, Atherectomy
• Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
• Central Line Placement
• Embolectomy, Embolization, Coiling
• Pulmonary procedures
• Port placements
• Mesenteric Arteriography and Feeding Tube placements
• Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) Filters

Certifications Required

• Registered Technologist (R.T.(R)(ARRT))
• Texas Medical Board - Medical Radiologic Technologist (TMB-MRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Preferred: Vascular Interventional Registry or Cardiovascular Registry

Additional Information

• Floating areas may include Radiology and Cath Lab as needed
• Dress code: Gray scrubs

• Rotating call may be required
