Job Opportunity: LPN/LVN - Rehab

Location: Salem, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Inpatient Rehab
• Number of Beds: 35
• Patient Ratios: 5-7 patients per nurse
• Staffing: 2-4 techs per census, unit secretaries available
• Equipment: Vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, Bladder scanner
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
• Floating Policy: May be floated to other Med Surg departments

Job Requirements

• Specialty: LPN/LVN in Rehab
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Med/Surg or PCU experience required (Rehab experience preferred)
• Certifications: BLS, IV Therapy Certificate
• Licenses: Valid LPN/LVN License in Virginia
• Advanced Skills: None required
• Procedures Performed:

  • Medication administration including IVs, PICC, PEG tube
  • Bladder scans
  • Trach care
  • Tube feeding
  • Foley catheter care and bladder irrigation
  • Blood administration

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Navy blue or white solid scrubs
• Preferred Experience: Rehab experience preferred
• Team Collaboration: Opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team including Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatrist, Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist
• Patient Focus: Impact patient functional improvements and help achieve goals for functional independence
