Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab with 3 cath labs
- Staff per day: 10-11 (mix of RNs and cardiovascular technologists on day shift; no night shift)
- Patient ratio: 3 staff per room
- Equipment: GE X-ray/MacLab
- EMR system: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
- Use of Impella and balloon-pump devices
- Peripheral cases
- Complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs)
- Occasional device procedures
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume lab handling complex cases
Work Environment & Expectations
- Fast-paced, busy lab setting
- Professional conduct and reliable attendance required
- Must be able to report to the hospital within 30 minutes of call-back
- On-call duties some weekends and weekdays
- Dress code: Light blue scrubs provided by hospital

- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment
Floating
- No floating to other units required
Hours
- Approximately 36 hours per week

Unit is semi friendly you get floated a lot in your first month of contact you all all the supplies you need. Over time is always available
Cons
Resources for your unit some are helpful others are not. If you have to use a timesheet for your pay the CNC doesn’t like that hopefully agency can upgrade that.
