Job Overview

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment type: Travel
Contract length: 13 weeks
Hours per week: 36
Schedule: Every other weekend; on-call when census is low
Floating: May float to 6A, 3A, 3South, and 4South

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

Prioritization skills
Time management skills

Unit Details

Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit
36 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1
Common equipment includes IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo pumps, chest tubes, telemetry, PCA pumps, BiPAPs, and epidurals

Common Responsibilities

Wound vac changes
Wound care
IV insertions
Insertion of indwelling Foley catheters
