Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit and Patient Population

• Med/Surg unit with 18 beds
• Patient ratios: 4-6 patients per nurse
• Patient age range: 28 days to end of life
• Common diagnoses/treatments: COPD, heart failure, orthopedic surgeries, general surgeries

Shift and Hours

• Night shift
• 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Rotating every other weekend
• Must work 4 shifts during the first half of the assignment
• Float requirements: must be willing to float to other departments as needed
• No call requirements

Required Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — required due to patient age range
• Registered Nurse license valid in Utah

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience

Orientation

• Monthly orientation during the 2nd full week of the month, Monday through Thursday

Unit Equipment and Systems

• Linett beds, bladder scanner, Masimo monitoring
• Electronic Health Record system: MedHost

• Scrubs only
• Any solid color scrubs acceptable

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
