Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Travel)

• Carthage, Tennessee
• Approximately 1 hour from Nashville
• Access to outdoor water activities nearby (fishing, boating, etc.)

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend rotation / as needed
• Call Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts per 4-week schedule
• Unit: Labor & Delivery, Nursery, Postpartum
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Population: Maternity women and newborns
• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Number of Beds: 2 labor beds, 3 postpartum beds
• Electronic Health Record System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Required Certifications prior to start:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience with fetal monitoring
• Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check before assignment start

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Experience with Centricity and Meditech EHR systems
• Experience with couplet care (mother and newborn care)

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum units
• Perform fetal monitoring
• Float to other units as needed
• Maintain a positive attitude, cooperative demeanor, and show initiative

Orientation & Other Information

• Orientation held weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; casual or other facility apparel not allowed
