Unit Details

• Department: Med-Tele Acute/Observation and Swingbed
• Number of Beds: 19
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3-6
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Pneumonia, rehab patients, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis, GI bleed

Shift & Scheduling

• Shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM, 7 PM - 7 AM
• Scheduling: Team scheduling with possible self-scheduling or block scheduling
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call or Standby: None

Orientation

• Unit-specific orientation typically 3-4 shifts (12-hour shifts)

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• No clinical involvement beyond nursing scope
• IV starts, telemetry monitoring, NG tube and Foley catheter insertion required
• RNs must be competent in setting up and troubleshooting respiratory therapy equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• RNs required to read their own telemetry strips
• No charge nurse on shift
• One CNA per shift assists with personal care, vitals, and weights
• RNs may be part of the code team

Equipment

• Telemetry monitors brand: Mindray
• Respiratory therapy equipment: vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow

Floating Requirements

• Must be able to float to Med/Tele Acute, Observation, and Swingbed units
• Experience needed in Medical and Telemetry units

Dress Code

• Scrubs required, bring your own (any color)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year nursing experience in Med/Tele specialty
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Additional Notes

• Positive team culture with emphasis on dependability, caring, knowledge, and flexibility
• Radius rule: Candidates must be within 50 miles and not currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with certain affiliated facilities
• Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals
