Diagnostic Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) - Omaha, Nebraska
Position Overview
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 10 hours per day, approximately 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week with one weekend every 4 weeks
- Call: 12 hours of call per month; holidays required as scheduled
- Orientation: 12 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
- Floating: Required to float between Emergency Department and Diagnostic Radiology Department, including portable X-rays on patient floors and C-Arm procedures in the OR
- Dress code: Red scrubs provided, plus hospital scrubs for surgery
Job Duties
- Perform fluoroscopy and diagnostic X-rays on inpatients and Emergency Department patients
- Conduct portable X-rays on patient floors
- Operate C-Arm equipment in the operating room
- Manage an average of 20-25 patients per shift in the Emergency Department without support staff except on floors
- Use radiology equipment including radiology rooms, portable X-ray units, C-Arms, R/F, and IT systems such as McKesson PACS, Centricity RIS, and EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Nebraska
- Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (R) certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Additional Information
- No local candidates accepted; must be willing to work within a 100-mile radius restriction
- Call-off policy allows up to 36 hours off every 13 weeks
- Candidate must be comfortable with floating between Emergency Department and Diagnostic Radiology
- Department provides on-the-job training and orientation through NEO and other departmental programs
