Job Overview
- Specialty: OR Tech
- Location: Seattle, WA
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (variable days Monday-Friday)
- Start Times: 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 11:00 AM (consistent within the same week)
- Call Requirements:
- 1 call per 4-week schedule (weeknight or weekend)
- Weekday call: from end of shift until 7 AM next morning
- Weekend call: 24 hours (7 AM to 7 AM), rotated among staff and travelers
- Call response time: 30 minutes (call room available)
- Floating: None
- Dress Code: Teal scrubs provided
Experience & Certifications
- Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year scrubbing experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
- Certifications:
- BLS Certification
- Washington State license required at time of application (no pending licenses accepted)
- CST national certification not required, but must be registered with Washington State
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school
Clinical & Technical Skills
- Must have experience with:
- ENT procedures: FESS (sinus), septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, thyroid/parathyroid soft tissue
- Da Vinci Xi robotic system (Gyn, Uro, General surgeries)
- Common case types include:
- GYN, Urology, Vascular, Plastic, Orthopedic (total hips/knees), Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General (Breast, HPB, Bariatric), Sports Medicine (Hand, Podiatry), Kidney and kidney/pancreatic transplants, ENT procedures
- Large and complex cases across 16 different service lines
Orientation & Work Environment
- Orientation includes 2 days with HR and OR leadership, plus a scavenger hunt with a surgical tech
- Travelers must bring their own earphones for the first week of online training onsite
- No parking reimbursement; parking available in garage or via public transit
- Team and physicians are supportive and willing to teach
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor available

- No holiday call requirements
- No self-scheduling; schedule set by management
- Start times may vary weekly but remain consistent within the week
- Travelers often extend their contracts due to positive experience
