Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Meridian, Idaho

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
- First-time travelers are acceptable (prior travel experience NOT required)
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license (No CRT accepted)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required
- For NICU patients, NRP certification is required
Patient Population and Unit Details
- Patient types: NICU Level IIB, MICU, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics
- Units covered: ER, Inpatient floors including ICU, MICU, MS-Telemetry, PACU, NICU
- Treatments per day: 25-28 during an 8-hour shift
- Responsibilities include ABGs (radial or brachial), all respiratory treatments, managing respiratory equipment
- Assisting with intubation only (not independently performing intubation)
Work Environment and Scheduling
- Floating required across multiple specialties and units (ICU, MICU, ER, NICU, etc.)
- May float to sister facilities within approximately 10-14 miles
- Shifts:
- Days: 07:00 - 19:30
- Evenings: 11:00 - 23:30
- Nights: 19:00 - 07:30 (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (Nights: Friday & Saturday; Days: Saturday & Sunday)
- Holiday rotation participation may be required
- Self-scheduling with flexibility expected; travelers are last to sign up and may be asked to fill gaps or trade shifts
- Optional call with 30-minute response time
Orientation
- 1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation with a preceptor
- Typically includes 1 day NICU/general and 1 day ICU orientation
Equipment Used
- Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60s, Vapotherm, EPOC
Additional Notes
- Must be comfortable initiating CPAP and attending deliveries in NICU
- Must be comfortable stabilizing and transferring pediatric patients in ER
- Professional dress code; scrub color is flexible but must be clean and professional
- Respiratory Manager and Supervisors available on each shift
- Hospitalist, Intensivist, and Anesthesia support available 24/7; eICU coverage at night
This position is suitable for RRTs with solid clinical skills who are adaptable and comfortable working across multiple units and patient populations.
