ICU RN

Overview

• Travel contract for an ICU RN in Lakewood, Washington.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• WA License; pending license needed to submit.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Unit Details

• ICU has 10 beds.
• Typical ratio is 1:2.
• Common patient population: mostly general med ICU, some surgical.
• Centralized monitoring; nurses verify strips.
• No nurse aides on the unit.
• Charge nurse on every shift.
• RT assigned to ICU and in house 24/7.
• Common equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, vents, and all oxygen delivery modes.

Schedule

• Every other weekend required.
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff.
• No call or standby requirement.

Floating

• Primary assignment is to ICU.
• May float to PCU, Med Surg, or ER for holds only, with a maximum ratio of 1:4.
• If needed, travelers may float throughout Region II.

Orientation

• Can test out of EPIC.
• Orientation includes meeting with the unit educator and then one full shift.

Additional Notes

• Reasonable RTO accepted.
• Any color professional scrubs are allowed.
