Location

• Garden City, Kansas

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Schedule is released 4–6 weeks in advance
• Weekend requirement: 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare call or standby requirement, typically for low census

Work Setting

• Med-surg telemetry float pool
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Float assignments may include multiple units and acuity levels, including ICU low-acuity holds within skillset, PCU/stepdown, and med-surg telemetry
• Travelers are expected to float throughout the full 60-mile zone

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of med-surg telemetry experience in the last 3 years
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license must be submitted

Responsibilities / Clinical Expectations

• Heparin titration
• May be assigned to float into other units as needed
• Must be flexible to help fill gaps in permanent scheduling

Additional Notes

• No home base facility
• Housing is the traveler’s responsibility and must support floating across the full zone
• Must be in state for the week of orientation
• Cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract
• 2-week notice is required to avoid a back-out penalty fee
• Prior neuro experience is preferred
• Alaris and EPIC experience is preferred
• Nurse aides are available on the unit
• Respiratory therapy equipment is available
• Designated charge nurse on each unit
