Job Details
- Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Technician
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts with call
- Call Requirements:
- Weekly, rotational basis
- Typically 8-9 call shifts per month (weeknights, weekends, holidays)
- Call response time: 30 minutes from page
- Mandatory call list used if staff cannot fulfill call shifts
- Orientation: 3 to 5 days, includes 12 non-billable orientation hours
- Floating: Not required to float at this time
- Scrubs: Provided by hospital
Work Environment
- Department: Cath Lab (separate from IR and EP)
- Number of Labs: 6 suites/labs
- Cases per Day: 10 to 15 average
- Typical Duties: Scrub, monitor hemodynamics, circulate
- EMR/Equipment: EPIC, PACS, McKesson cardiology systems
- On-Call Physicians: Cardiologists on call 24/7
- Charge Nurse: Primary charge nurse on shift 06:00-15:30, takes call but does not routinely complete cases
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification
- Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
- IEMA certification
Additional Notes
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay requirement for the shift missed
